Arts for Learning WNY is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors who believe deeply in the power of the arts to inspire learning, strengthen communities, and advance equity. Their leadership helps shape our vision and ensures we remain grounded in our mission.

The mission of Arts for Learning is to inspire, expand learning, and strengthen our community through engagement with the arts.

Board members serve as fiduciaries, providing ethical, equitable, and sound governance while helping ensure the organization has the resources needed to thrive and grow.

We are currently seeking new board members who bring diverse experiences and perspectives. We believe our leadership should reflect the vibrant and diverse communities of Buffalo and Western New York. Individuals from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, working-class, and other underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Board Responsibilities

Collectively, the board provides strategic leadership, financial oversight, fundraising support, and stewardship of the organization’s mission and values. Individually, board members act as ambassadors for Arts for Learning, actively participate in meetings and committees, support resource development efforts, and engage with our programs and community.

Board members commit approximately 3-4 hours per month, attend select programs and events, and make a meaningful annual financial contribution.

Who We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates:

• Reside in one of the eight counties of Western New York

• Have a passion for arts-integrated education

• Bring skills in areas such as nonprofit finance, law, fundraising, marketing, human resources, grant writing, event planning, or strategic planning

• Are committed to equity, inclusion, and respectful collaboration
