Creativity to Go: Bringing Arts Integration Kits to More Communities

A little creativity can go a long way!

Over the past year, Arts for Learning WNY expanded our Arts Integration Kits initiative, bringing free, hands-on arts and literacy experiences to more children and families throughout the City of Buffalo.

Designed to inspire creativity, encourage learning, and bring families together, Arts Integration Kits give young people the opportunity to explore the arts at home and throughout their communities. Each kit includes engaging activities that invite families to create, imagine, and try something new.

Impact in 2025-2026

During the 2025-2026 fiscal year, we distributed more than 3,000 Arts Integration Kits throughout Buffalo - helping make arts-based learning experiences more accessible for children and families across the city.

This expansion was made possible through the support of incredible community partners who helped bring kits directly into neighborhoods. We distributed kits at libraries, as well as through partners including the Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP), United Somali Alliance of Buffalo, West Side Community Services, The Belle Center, Buffalo Public Schools, Groundwork Market Garden, and The Darwin Martin House - to name a few. Kits also reached families through community events and initiatives, including the Buffalo Juneteenth Festival.

Every kit represents a chance for a child to create, explore, and connect through the arts - and we’re excited to keep growing!

Thanks to generous support from a new donor, Arts for Learning will expand the Arts Integration Kits even further during the 2026-2027 school year. This funding will allow us to reach more children and families throughout Western New York, including communities outside of Buffalo and in rural areas where access to arts experiences can be limited.
