At Arts for Learning WNY, we’re all about sparking
creativity,
imagination,
and curiosity
in WNY kids. Our Arts Integration Kits are the perfect way to do just that! Launched in 2025, these take-home kits bring hands-on arts activities and amazing picture books right to families in Buffalo.
What are Arts Integration Kits?
Think of these kits as a mini arts adventure you can do at home. Each one includes a carefully picked picture book, written by a diverse author, and all the materials and activity guides you need to create, explore, and learn together. They’re perfect for kids (and grown-ups!) to dive into art, storytelling, and creative problem-solving.
Lots of families face hurdles to accessing arts programs - that’s where these kits come in! They make it easy to spark imagination, boost literacy, and get the whole family involved in creative learning.
Thanks to the support of the City of Buffalo Common Council, we
can get these kits into the hands of more families across the City. Their support makes it possible for kids to experience arts and literacy in a way that’s fun, meaningful, and accessible for everyone.
By featuring stories and activities that celebrate Buffalo’s neighborhoods and amplify voices of color, the kits let kids see themselves, their families, and their communities reflected in the stories they read and the art they make. It’s all about creativity, connection, and a little bit of magic at home!

Ten Ways to Hear Snow
When weather keeps you inside, the Ten Ways to Hear Snow kit provides a playful way to explore, imagine, and get creative with things you already have at home. Follow along with the story from your library or online and dive into hands-on activities that encourage listening, curiosity, and fun!
Whether it’s reading, crafting, or experimenting with sounds, this kit helps kids and families make the most of snowy days and turn them into moments of discovery and connection.
In this multi-purpose kit, Visual Arts helps teach Geometry, Dance offers a bridge into English Language Arts, and Music provides the framework for exploring Storytelling.
