Arts for Learning WNY is proud to be an approved Arts in Education vendor with both Erie 1 BOCES and Cattaraugus-Allegany-Erie-Wyoming (CAEW) BOCES, making it easier than ever for schools to bring high-quality arts programming to students through CoSer reimbursement.
Through the BOCES Arts in Education CoSer, schools can support workshops, residencies, and performances that enrich instruction, deepen student engagement, and align directly with New York State Learning Standards. All Arts for Learning programs qualify under Arts in Education, allowing districts to access creative, impactful programming in a cost-effective way.
What Is the Arts in Education CoSer?
The Arts in Education cooperative service (CoSer) provides schools with an effective and flexible way to offer arts and educational programming - either by bringing professional Teaching Artists into the school building or by connecting students with cultural venues in the community.
This service is designed to:
Enrich students’ academic and personal growth through the arts
Support arts integration across all NYS Learning Standards
Offer meaningful arts experiences during and beyond the school day
Provide a cost-efficient model for districts through BOCES reimbursement
Why Schools Choose Arts for Learning WNY
For decades, Arts for Learning has partnered with schools across Western New York to deliver thoughtfully designed arts learning experiences led by professional Teaching Artists. Programs are adaptable to grade level, curriculum goals, and school schedules, and are built to support both students and educators.
Schools utilizing BOCES funding have consistently seen positive outcomes:
Northwood Elementary School reported that a BOCES-supported arts performance helped improve student character and respectful behaviors, while also increasing overall interest in the arts.
Holland Central School District has used BOCES funding for more than 15 years to support arts integration residencies for elementary, middle, and high school students, demonstrating long-term commitment and sustained impact.
