This bookbinding program can be a single workshop or a 10 week residency, designed to teach young artists the skills of this historical art and craft form. Confidence is built as skills are introduced as foundation leading up to more complex projects. Every week books and zines by BIPOC, LGBTQI+, and disabled artists will be brought to share to emphasize independent publishing and how creating books can raise marginalized voices. Traditional structures as well as sculptural books will be included culminating with a group project and a final artist book.
