Arts for Learning Returns to South Park HS Family Resource Center this Fall to Present a FREE Intro to Clay Residency!
Dates: October 7, 14, 21, 28 and November 4, 18
Time: 6pm – 7pm

This fall, Arts for Learning WNY will be partnering with Northwest Buffalo Community Center and the Family Resource Center at South Park High School to present an incredible 6-week residency that will introduce participants to the medium of clay.
Delivered by Teaching Artist Cassondra Argeros, this residency is free to the public and open to participants of all ages.
Over the course of 6 sessions, participants will be encouraged to explore and express themselves through clay artistry. They will learn the science of pottery, hand-building techniques, and decorative applications to create their visual autobiography. Social-emotional and academic lessons will be woven throughout to support the participants in self-expression, building community, and linking academics to hands-on art experiences.
Attendance at every session is not required for participation in this residency, but some projects will require the use of kiln, so ongoing participation is ideal to ensure that participants are able to collect and take home their art.
Interested participants should contact the Family Resource Center to express their interest and learn more about registration.

This exciting residency represents a continuation of the ongoing partnership between Arts for Learning, Northwest Buffalo Community Center, and South Park High School Family Resource Center. This collaboration aims to open doors to accessible arts experiences for young artists and their families in the communities around South Park High School.
“I'm thrilled to continue our partnership for another year with Northwest Community Center and the South Park High School Family Resource Center," says Arts for Learning WNY Program Manager Jesi Miller, "After seeing the impact of our work together last year, I'm excited to build on that foundation and create even more opportunities for students and families to connect, express themselves, and grow through the arts. South Park HS is a community that values creativity, collaboration, and meaningful experiences, and I look forward to another inspiring year together!"
