An Arts-Integrated Program Spotlight: Mandalas, Math, and Mindfulness

Let's explore symmetry in our environment! The Mandalas, Math, and Mindfulness Program is taught by our Master Teaching Artist Kristin Brandt. Through this program, students explore symmetry in their environment. They create art together using found objects and/or nature, as well as learn breathing techniques while making mandalas.

Through this program, students meet several educational objectives, including:

  • Understanding the concept of, gain appreciation for, and explore the radial symmetry around them and that which occurs in nature

  • Explaining how to self actualize through concentration and breath

  • Learning the “Radial Circle, Symmetry Same” song

  • Making and identify mandalas in their world

This program is typically 45 minutes long for an average class size of 20-30 students, but we can tailor this workshop to fit your needs. Whether it's teaching students K-12, indoors or out, we can customize an arts-integrated program that aligns with your curriculum!

Meet the Master Teaching Artist
