Judd Sunshine from The Hill Brothers
Judd Sunshine has been a professional musician in Western NY since moving here in 1976. In 1985, Judd began his ongoing career as a teaching artist performing in schools with The Hill Brothers. Prior to the pandemic, this group maintained a schedule of 100-150 themed assembly programs a year throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Jersey. These themes included character education, bully prevention programs, literacy, New York State history, multi-cultural diversity, and environmental issues. These shows were received with great enthusiasm by students, administrators, and teachers wherever they were performed. This extensive experience as a teaching artist contributed to Judd receiving grants in 2015, 2018, and 2022, and 2024 to bring Erie Canal song writing workshops to hundreds of elementary school students in Albion, NY. Judd performs 12-15 times a month as a soloist at assisted living centers, nursing homes, senior centers, community centers, libraries, etc. He continues to perform themed assembly programs (Erie Canal history, anti-bully, literacy, and wellness) to elementary schools throughout the region.
