Nancy Baun

Nancy Baun is the rare synthesis of touring concert cellist, (retired) classroom music teacher, and arts consultant. Her passions include creating community and inspiring both professional and student audiences. She taught elementary music at Tapestry Charter School where she designed arts integrated music curriculum, during which time she received praise as a program partner for the BPO/Lincoln Center Music 

Program, presented programs at the Albright Knox Art Gallery, and lead the cello section at SUNY Buffalo State Orchestra. She has also received a national Young Audiences grant for her programs integrating music, drawing and emotions, was Co-Director of the WNED/BPO JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Festival, and worked with UB’s Cultural Tourism Initiative of the early 2000’s. She continues to present STEAM training to educators, programs enhancing life skills through music to different populations, creativity workshops for adult musicians, and volunteers for the Senecca Babcock Meals on Wheels. She has been a teaching artist for over 30 years.
